Omsk company "Promobit" was able to achieve inclusion of its storage system on Elbrus in the Unified Register of Russian Radio-Electronic Products under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. We are talking about the Bitblaze Sirius 8000 series storage system. The registry includes three models of this series. The main difference between models from each other is a set of hard drives.

The company can now supply its storage system for municipal and state needs. It is worth recalling that at the end of last year the Government of the Russian Federation banned government purchases of foreign storage systems. The reason for the ban is the desire to ensure the security of the country's critical infrastructure.

According to representatives of Promobit, an examination of the level of localization of storage systems was previously carried out. Based on the results of studying the system, this figure was 94,5%.

β€œThe company's engineers carry out a full cycle of product development in two centers - in Omsk and in Moscow. Cases, electronic printed circuit boards, motherboards, cable products, software - all this was developed by the company's specialists and produced in Russia. The company has developed production processes at partner factories in Omsk, with the possibility of scaling up to 5 thousand units of products per month,” the company said.

The system is a horizontally scalable fault-tolerant data storage system with file and block access, distributed over several nodes. β€œThe distinctive features of the product are ease of use, reliability, ease of scaling (the storage capacity can be increased up to 104 PB, which allows storing more than 1 billion files), the ability to work together in a single storage cluster of e2k (MCST) and x86 (Intel) architecture storage systems. The latter allows for a smooth transition to Russian equipment at any stage of the life cycle of information systems,” the company representatives said.

The domestic company developed storage systems as part of a state project supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The competition was held in 2016, at the same time the financing agreement was signed. The maximum amount of the subsidy amounted to 189,6 million rubles. The total budget of the project is 379,8 million rubles. That is, the company had to find 190 million rubles on its own.

In addition to storage systems, Promobit developed its own Bitblaze KFS software for managing Scale-Out storage systems.
