Activision Says Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Will Have No Loot Boxes, Season Pass or Paid DLC

Publisher Activision in its official blog published statement about monetization in the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. According to the post to which previously hinted the head of Infinity Ward, loot boxes, a season pass and paid add-ons will not be added to the game. Only Battle Passes and COD Points will be sold.

Future additions in the form of maps and modes will be free to all buyers. Any items that affect the gameplay are unlocked for merits in duels. Battle Passes include content that can be unlocked directly in the game. Later, these items will become available in the store for real money, and the user will immediately see what exactly he is purchasing. These things are purely cosmetic and do not affect the gameplay in any way. "Battle passes" will appear in 2019, but after the release of the project. Their upcoming release, the developers will coincide with the change of seasons.
