The company has strict and legally binding agreements with its OEMs regarding the handling of the AMD brand, labeling, and product promotion. AMD condemned Chuwi's behavior, stating that such actions undermine consumer trust in AMD as a brand. In its statement, AMD also noted that it reserves the right to take legal action against those involved.

"We recently noticed that Chuwi, without permission, mislabeled the AMD Ryzen 5 5500U as the Ryzen 5 7430U. AMD never approved, endorsed, or agreed to this behavior, nor was it involved in the labeling or promotion of the products in question, and was completely unaware of it.

AMD has clear and strict policies regarding the naming, use, and labeling of product models. Any unauthorized use of model names or false labeling seriously disrupts normal market practices and may mislead consumers.

"We have always placed great importance on the accuracy and transparency of product information and are committed to ensuring a fair and orderly market environment and the legitimate rights and interests of users. Our company takes this matter very seriously and reserves the right to take legal action against the parties involved," AMD said in a Chinese-language statement.
