"Sky Machine has created an immersive stealth game that makes great use of lighting, verticality and a deep toolbox to allow players to sneak around however they see fit," said Blowfish Studios co-founder Ben Lee. β€œWe look forward to showing more Winter Ember in the near future.”

Winter Ember is set in the Victorian world. The game tells the story of Arthur Artorias, a faceless man in pursuit of answers and revenge. Arriving after nearly a decade of exile in Anargal, where he has been stripped of his family, fortune, and past, the hero is confronted by the Great Paradise, a tyrannical religious militant faction that has seized control of the city in his absence. To survive returning home, Artorias must rely on his wits and use the darkness to his advantage.

The player will have to explore huge gothic "sandboxes" filled with treasures and secrets, and silently penetrate buildings. In Winter Ember, there will be several paths to the goal and solutions to each problem. For studying the environment and identifying less obvious ways to enter or exit, the player will receive a reward.

Even when the player is cornered and seemingly forced to use a weapon, Artorias can evade combat by creating one of over 30 special arrows to avoid a sticky situation. Water projectiles, for example, can put out flames and create new dark corners to hide in.
