Previously, when testing a network using Netgear Nighthawk 5G access points, developers could not achieve a significant increase in throughput. Now it has become known that AT&T has managed to achieve an increase in the data transfer rate in the 5G network to the mark of 1 Gbps. It is noteworthy that at this speed, downloading a two-hour HD movie will take about 20 seconds.

It is worth noting that already in December last year, the AT&T 5G service was operating at speeds up to 194,88 Mbps. Later, the network was upgraded, due to which the operator was able to expand the channel, achieving a significant increase in speed. AT&T says it is the first US carrier to break the 1 Gb/s mark within a fifth-generation mobile network.

In the future, the company intends to continue testing and implementing advanced technologies in the field of 5G. The largest US telecom operators are constantly working, the result of which will be new services and services. Experts believe that the commercial use of 5G networks will encourage the emergence of new enterprises that will be able to take full advantage of the higher data transfer speed.

Recall that last year, the domestic company VimpelCom, using Huawei equipment, successfully tested a 5G network, reaching a speed of 1030 Mbps.
