The authors of GTFO talked about the expedition system and promised an early release on Steam Early Access

Developers from the Swedish studio 10 Chambers Collective have published a new video dedicated to the cooperative horror shooter GTFO. It talks about the system of expeditions - tasks that will be available for a limited time. The authors hope that this component will help maintain interest in the game for a long time. They also confirmed that they are going to release the game on Steam Early Access before the end of 2019.

GTFO takes place in an underground complex. The mysterious Director (The Warden) holds four scavengers captive and forces them to carry out tasks in different parts of the building. To survive, they need to destroy monsters and solve puzzles with proper planning, as well as collect resources and save ammunition. Challenges (or expeditions, as the authors call them) are presented on the summary screen (The Rundown), which the user will see after starting the game. It is divided into several sections, varying in difficulty, types of opponents and objectives. The deeper gamers go underground, the harder the mission will be.

The reports will be updated on a timer. After the time has passed, the tasks will be replaced with new ones - the old ones will disappear. Some Expedition Series will remain available for a few weeks, while others will remain available for several months. As the developers note, this system will help the game remain attractive to users.

Exact release dates for early access Steam are not disclosed, but the authors hope that this will happen before the beginning of 2020. The price for the western segments of the store will be $35. Soon the developers will conduct closed beta testing, an application for participation in which can be left at the official website project. After the release of the final version, the shooter may receive several DLCs. The creators do not rule out the appearance of micropayments, but we are talking only about cosmetic improvements.

β€œThe early access period will be very interesting,” promises 10 Chambers Collective founder Ulf Andersson. β€” We will test the concept of reports. We need to decide how many expeditions to add to one report and how long they should be, as well as decide on the features of each of them. We will try and experiment. We think it will be very exciting for hardcore gamers who love co-op games and want to follow the development of GTFO."

GTFO is described as a game for "hardcore gamers craving a real challenge." It will be the first project from the Stockholm studio 10 Chambers Collective, founded in 2015. In addition to Andersson, it employs other people from Overkill Software who participated in the creation of Payday: The Heist and Payday 2. The shooter was planned to be released in 2018, but the release was postponed several times. Rock Paper Shotgun, GameReactor and DualShockers named the game one of the best projects at E3 2018.
