The Yandex company announced the preparation of a new version of the Yandex.Auto on-board computer system, which received a number of significant improvements and additions.
In particular, navigation tools have undergone improvements. Yandex.Navigator on a smartphone and on-board computer is now connected, and a single Yandex account allows the driver to plan a route while still at home. In the application, you can see where the car is parked, build a route from it and transfer it to the on-board computer screen with one button.
The navigator in the on-board computer also learned to recognize six types of cameras and warn of approaching them, including by voice. And for this you do not need to lay a route. Warnings, for example, are displayed for intersection cameras, stop cameras and speed cameras. The navigator will also warn you when you are approaching schools.
The changes affected the Yandex.Auto interface. On the main screen, the services that the driver uses most often will appear: motorists will be able to get quick access to, say, music or favorite routes.
A unified music player interface has been implemented: now it looks the same when listening to radio broadcasts, music from a smartphone via Bluetooth, or tracks from the Yandex.Music library.
Finally, the Yandex.Fueling service has been implemented: the driver will be able to pay for fuel directly from the car. As soon as the car arrives at the gas station, the on-board computer will understand where it is and offer to pay for refueling.
New functions will become available in Yandex.Auto system version 1.7, which will be released in the near future. Drivers who additionally installed Yandex.Auto in their car will be able to do it themselves in the settings. Those who had Yandex.Auto built into their car from the very beginning will receive updates gradually from dealers.
