Facebook reported on the work in the last quarter of 2019 and the year ended as a whole: the number of users of the social network continues to increase.
Facebook's revenue for the three-month period was $21,08 billion, which is a quarter (25%) more than the result for the last quarter of 2018, when the company received $16,91 billion in revenue.
Net quarterly income rose approximately 7% from $6,88 billion to $7,35 billion. Profit per share was $2,56.
The number of monthly active Facebook users as of December 31 reached 2,5 billion people. This is 8% more than a year ago.
The social network now has 1,66 billion subscribers daily. Growth in annual terms amounted to 9%.
Facebook's revenue at the end of 2019 as a whole reached $70,70 billion. For comparison: in 2018, the company's income was $55,84 billion. Thus, the figure rose by 27% over the year.
At the same time, net annual income decreased by 16% - from $22,11 billion to $18,49 billion. Earnings per share amounted to $6,43.
The lion's share of Facebook's revenue continues to come from advertising. It is also noted that over the year, the company's staff increased by a quarter, reaching 44 employees at the end of December.
