E3 2019: Animal Crossing: New Horizons showing, new details and release date postponement

During the Nintendo Direct presentation at E3 2019, a new part of Animal Crossing with the subtitle New Horizons was demonstrated. The trailer showed the main character arriving on a charter flight to a desert island. The video shows gameplay footage and gives a general idea of ​​the upcoming project.

The video begins with showing locations, and then the main character sets up a tent. She trod the trees and got several branches, from which she made an ax on the workbench. Then I chopped wood, found coal, lit a fire and had a picnic on the beach. Then time speeds up and users are shown how housing is arranged on a desert island. The central character acquired a fishing rod, a place for cooking food, a barrel for boiling water, and set up a garden bed near the tent.

The trailer demonstrates several seasons - for example, in winter, users will be able to build a snowman. The video shows anthropomorphic animals as a constant attribute of the series, as well as a full-fledged settlement on the island. Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be released on March 20, 2020, only on Nintendo Switch.

They decided to postpone the game to avoid rework (it was originally planned to release it in 2019). Nintendo CEO Doug Bowser commented on this matter: β€œWe want to see smiles on the faces of employees - these are our principles. This also applies to developers who need to maintain a normal balance between work and rest.”
