A fan of Duke Nukem 3D released a remake of the first episode on the Serious Sam 3 engine

β€œThe main idea of the remake of the first episode of Duke Nukem 3D is to recreate the experience from the classic game. Some extended elements have been added here, such as reworked levels, random waves of enemies, and more. It also uses sounds and animations taken from other games in the series, and many music tracks created specifically for this mod, ”wrote the developer.

Serious Sam Fusion is required to run the game, through which Serious Sam 3 will be installed. You also need a subscription to individual maps and scripts. After that, you need to run the project through the "play moddable" function and select Serious Duke 3D from the list of companies. More detailed launch rules can be found here.

The project supports VR mode. Fans will need Serious Sam 3 VR Edition for this, but Syndroid pointed out that it has several issues with cutscenes. In the future, the developer plans to continue to improve his project.

Duke Nukem 3D was released in 1996 by 3D Realms. In 2016 Gearbox Software released Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour. The company reworked the graphics and added a new episode to the shooter.
