In 2019, according to preliminary estimates, the total volume of the computer device industry will be 2,14 billion units. For comparison: last year deliveries amounted to 2,22 billion units.

In the cellular segment, a decline of 3,2% is expected: shipments of smartphones and mobile phones will fall from 1,81 billion to 1,74 billion units. In 2020, sales are expected to reach 1,77 billion units, with about 10% of this volume coming from devices supporting fifth generation mobile communications (5G).

Shipments of personal computers this year will fall by 1,5% compared to 2018 and will amount to approximately 255,7 million units. The PC market will continue to decline in 2020, with sales projected at 249,7 million units.

The observed picture is explained by the unstable economic situation, as well as the fact that users have become less likely to update their electronic gadgets.
