Intel may surprise: the price of the Core i9-9900KS Special Edition has become known

As the announcement of the new Core i9-9900KS processor approaches, more and more details about this new product are being revealed. And today one of its most important characteristics has become known - the price. Today, several online stores around the world opened product pages dedicated to the Core i9-9900KS. And judging by the information available on them, a 5-GHz eight-core processor will be sold for about $100 more than the "base" Core i9-9900K model.

It is worth recalling that the Core i9-9900KS is an "improved" version of the eight-core Core i9-9900K, which is capable of running in turbo mode at a frequency of 5,0 GHz with the load on all cores at the same time. This mode is standard, that is, it does not require overclocking or any additional settings. But the nominal frequency of the Core i9-9900KS is 4,0 GHz, the thermal package is set to 127 watts.

Information about this processor was placed on their pages by at least two stores: Australian and American. In both cases, the price is set just above $600 ($604 in pure form, and $608 when converted from Australian dollars to US dollars).

Thus, we can conclude that the Core i9-9900KS will not be some kind of premium offer, but will become a widely available continuation of the LGA1151v2 processor line up. Despite the fact that Intel talks about the new product, adding the epithet "Special Edition", the premium for a 400-MHz advantage over the Core i9-9900K will be only 20%, and this is not some kind of protective barrier to the emergence of widespread demand for an updated flagship.

The appearance of the Core i9-9900KS on sale is expected during October.
