Karma will challenge Tesla and Rivian with the release of an electric pickup truck

Karma plans to use a new all-wheel drive platform for the pickup truck, which will go into production at a plant in southern California, said Kevin Pavlov, who was named Karma's chief operating officer this month. According to him, the new pickup will be offered at a price lower than that of the Revero luxury hybrid sports sedan, which starts at $135. This architecture will also be used to create a high-end crossover.

Formerly Fisker Automotive, Karma has had a difficult few years since going bankrupt in 2013. The company's assets were acquired by Chinese auto parts conglomerate Wanxiang Group, which also acquired the assets of its A123 battery supplier.
