Every tenth Russian cannot imagine life without the Internet

The All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM) published the results of a survey that examined the peculiarities of the use of the Internet in our country.

Every tenth Russian cannot imagine life without the Internet

It is estimated that currently approximately 84% of our fellow citizens use the World Wide Web at some time or another. Smartphones are the main type of devices for accessing the Internet in Russia today: over the past three years, their penetration has increased by 22% and is 61%.

According to VTsIOM, now more than two-thirds of Russians - 69% - go online every day. Another 13% use the Internet several times a week or a month. And only 2% of respondents reported that they rarely work on the World Wide Web.

“The hypothetical situation of the complete disappearance of the Internet will not cause panic among half of the users: 24% said that in this case nothing would change in their lives, 27% said that the impact would be extremely weak,” the study notes.
