LG Charges Hisense with Illegal Use of Patented Technology

LG Electronics, according to The Korea Herald, has filed a lawsuit against Chinese firm Hisense, a manufacturer of large home appliances and electronics.

The lawsuit was filed with the District Court of California (USA). The defendants are charged with the illegal use of a number of patented technologies in television panels.

LG Electronics, in particular, claims that the majority of Hisense TVs that are available in the US market use one or another design protected by four patents.

Among other things, we are talking about tools to improve the user interface and tools designed to speed up data exchange via Wi-Fi wireless communication.

In the statement of claim, LG Electronics asks the court to order Hisense to stop illegal use of patented technologies and pay monetary compensation, the amount of which, however, is not specified.

"The company will take strong action against patent infringement to protect its intellectual property," says LG Electronics. Hisense has yet to comment on the situation.
