Marvel's Iron Man VR will be a full non-linear game

Camouflaj announced last month that it was working on Marvel's Iron Man VR VR game, a PlayStation VR exclusive. Its founder, Ryan Payton, said that it will be a full-fledged non-linear project with optional tasks and deep customization.

Ryan Peyton has been in the industry for many years. He has contributed to projects such as Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Halo 4. In an interview with VentureBeat, Peyton revealed the details of Marvel's Iron Man VR.

The virtual reality format is still in its infancy. No one knows exactly how to make these games so that users are interested. Experimental demos are often released, but not full-fledged projects. Ryan Peyton and Camouflaj want to create something different. Their Marvel's Iron Man VR will be a full story game for many hours. β€œDeveloping the flight mechanics was a challenge, but an interesting one. Once players rewire their brains to match the triggers at the bottom of the palm where the movement is coming from, they do all kinds of cool [stunts]. But it takes time,” said Ryan Python. β€œWe have been studying this training for over a year, trying to understand what comes naturally to players. We also want to give them the ability to move around 360 degrees in PlayStation VR."

Over time, players get used to being Tony Stark. They hold PS Move controllers like they are Iron Man. β€œThat's what's fun about VR. It breaks down all barriers to fantasy. It's one of the reasons we were so excited when Marvel gave us their blessing to make an Iron Man game. Hero is great for VR,” Ryan Peyton explained.

It is not yet known exactly how long the Marvel's Iron Man VR campaign will last. The game will be released in 2019. We will probably find out more about the project at E3 June 2019.
