The new version of Microsoft Edge is based on the Chromium engine, which allows it to use extensions for Chrome. Declared synchronization of favorites, browsing history and previously installed plugins. To do this, use a Microsoft account.

Also, the new version received smooth scrolling of web pages, integration with Windows Hello and the normal operation of the touch keyboard. However, the changes are not only internal. The new browser has received Fluent Design corporate identity, and in the future, advanced tab customization options and handwriting support are promised.

“We work directly with Google teams and the Chromium community and value collaborative and open discussions. Some features are not yet fully featured in the browser you can install today, so stay tuned for updates,” said Joe Belfiore, corporate vice president of Microsoft.

At the moment, only English-language builds are available for 64-bit Windows 10. Support for Windows 8, Windows 7, and macOS is expected in the future. You can download the Canary and Dev versions on the official website of the corporation from Redmond. At the same time, we note that the new browser is still being tested, therefore errors are possible in it. In other words, it should not be used in everyday work.
