And now the corporation is finally ready expand the your Fluent Design recommendations across platforms, including mobile.

Microsoft Expands Fluent Design to iOS, Android and Websites

Although the new concept was already available for iOS and Android, now it will be easier for developers to implement it in mobile platforms and web interfaces, since the company published official requirements, as well as a description of the new Fabric UI element. In addition, Microsoft Launched a new website featuring various aspects of the design. All of these materials should, according to the Redmond company, explain the philosophy of Fluent Design and show the benefits of this approach.

Note that the upcoming build of Windows 10 May 2019 Update is expected to introduce more Fluent Design elements. In particular, it will receive a new browser Microsoft Edge based on the Chromium engine, as well as apparently "Conductor". Obviously, over time, this design concept will be used in other products of the company, including Win32 applications.

In addition, Microsoft promised extend the design concept to third-party products. Of course, this does not mean that developers will necessarily adhere to the new requirements, but it is possible that the company will find methods of persuasion.

At the moment, experiments with graphic design at Microsoft have not been very successful. The tiles have not stood the test of time, and the “tape” design of programs, although it turned out to be convenient, few dared to copy it. Maybe it will be better this time?
