Microsoft is testing the integration of Google services with Outlook.com

Microsoft plans to integrate several Google services with its Outlook.com email service. Some time ago, Microsoft started testing the integration of Gmail, Google Drive and Google Calendar on some accounts, as one of the participants in this process announced on Twitter.

During setup, the user needs to link their Google and Outlook.com accounts, after which Gmail, Google Drive and Google Calendar will automatically appear on the Microsoft service page.

It looks very similar to how Outlook works on iOS and Android when separate inboxes are connected and there is calendar integration in parallel. At the moment, a limited number of users can take part in integration testing. For those who have this option, only one Google account can be added, and switching between Outlook and Gmail does not work. Integration with Google Drive includes support for documents and files from the Google service, which will allow you to quickly attach them to messages sent from Outlook or Gmail.

At the moment, it is not known how many users are participating in the testing of new features and when Microsoft may begin to roll out the integration everywhere. While many people visit Gmail to view their incoming mail, the new integration may be useful for those who use Outlook.com and G Suite accounts for work. Microsoft representatives have not yet made official statements regarding the integration of Google services into their mail service.
