“If you look at the area of the world of Cyberpunk 2077, it will be slightly smaller than in The Witcher 3, but the content density will be much higher. Roughly speaking, the project takes and compresses the Witcher map, removing the surrounding nature from it. In The Witcher 3 we had an open world with forests, huge fields between small and larger cities, but in Cyberpunk 2077 the action takes place in Night City. In fact, the city is the main character, if you can call it that, so it should be more intense. We wouldn’t have gotten the desired effect if we hadn’t resorted to this method,” Borzimowski said.

It is now known that Night City will have six districts and there will be no loading screens when moving between them. Players will be able to explore the outskirts called the Badlands. The studio promised to reveal more details during the live broadcast on August 30th.

Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled for release on April 16, 2020. The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia. Unlike a number of major studios, CD Projekt RED does not plan to make the PC version exclusive to the Epic Games Store.
