Overwatch 2 will have a fennec character and possibly a voodoo priest at launch

Blizzard Entertainment announced Overwatch 2 last week. The company has confirmed that there will be new characters in the shooter at launch, and thanks to Game Informer, we can roughly introduce some of them.

The publication's staff visited the Blizzard Entertainment headquarters even before the announcement of Overwatch 2. They were shown a presentation that included slides with silhouettes of four new heroes. Three of them appeared to be women. It's worth noting that the previously introduced Sojourn and Echo are not included in this number. "The image contained four silhouettes, none of which were immediately recognizable as characters shown in early concept art, comics, or any other images we've seen," wrote GI executive editor Andrew Reiner.

One of the characters is a man with a crooked staff, who may be a wizard or voodoo priest. Another character turned out to be a woman with short hair who has a pet that looks like a fennec cat, but with longer ears and an aggressive pose. She held a giant tetrahedral weapon reminiscent of Yuffie's shuriken from Final Fantasy VII.

Game Informer did not describe any other heroes.
