A popular service for bypassing provider NAT and port forwarding on connections with a gray IP no longer works with Russian IPs. When trying to use the service, an error appears:
ERROR: authentication failed: We do not allow agents to connect to ngrok from your IP address (89.222.217.50). ERROR: ERROR: ERR_NGROK_9040 ERROR: https://ngrok.com/docs/errors/err_ngrok_9040 ERROR:
The error text is sent directly to the official website, which blocks requests from Russian IP addresses without even displaying the error page. Connecting with IP addresses another country, we managed to get the following message:
As a company based in the United States of America, we are no longer permitted to do business with entities that have been sanctioned by the United States government.
Now users with a gray IP will have to look for other ways to open ports, either rent an external IP from a provider, or proxy connections through a VPS.
PS: Unfortunately, this is not an April Fool's joke.
