It's really no coincidence that the updated Mac Pro lit up recently

Apple's previous experiment in the form of a radically redesigned Mac Pro presented in 2013 in a compact cylindrical glossy turbine-cooled case will be forgotten by fans of the Cupertino company and the manufacturer itself. The design, nicknamed the "wastebasket", proved impractical, and serious restrictions on the size of components and temperature conditions prevented owners from making major upgrades, and Apple from offering up-to-date updates and providing the most powerful configurations.
However, Apple offers to pay for everything - the most basic Mac Pro configuration costs $5999. For this impressive amount, the buyer gets a fairly average configuration: 32 GB of RAM, an 8-core Intel Xeon processor with a frequency of 3,5 GHz, an AMD Radeon Pro 580X graphics accelerator and a 256 GB SSD.
But, of course, most systems will be much more advanced. The computer allows you to install a 28-core 300-Watt Intel Xeon processor, up to 1,5 TB of 6-channel RAM (12 DIMM slots), and SSDs with a maximum total capacity of up to 8 TB. The HDD can only be installed as external drives - for this you can use two USB-C (Thunderbolt) ports and two USB-A ports on the rear panel of the system or two more USB-C (Thunderbolt) - on the top side next to the power button. Additional Thunderbolt 3 ports can be obtained through special MPX expansion modules. There are also 8 PCI Express slots, half of which are double-width for larger graphics cards and expansion cards.
Video cards for Mac Pro are available in MPX. AMD Radeon Pro 580X, Radeon Pro Vega 2, and Radeon Pro Vega 2 Duo options are available, with the latter pair delivering a total processing power of 56,8 TFLOPs, 10x the performance of the 580X, not to mention the 128GB HBM2 video memory array . For video, Apple offers a dedicated module that accelerates up to three 8K/30p ProRes streams or 12 4K/30p ProRes streams simultaneously, eliminating the need for a proxy. A special Apple T2 security co-processor is responsible for data encryption, ensuring that only trusted software runs, even at the lowest level.
It's not clear what the price of the Mac Pro's top configuration is, but some estimates could easily top $70. It's reported that the computer can handle up to six 000K streams in Final Cut Pro, but it's yet to be revealed exactly what configuration this would require.
Apple will also launch a 32-inch monitor with the Mac Pro next month
