Cloud gaming service GeForce Now is now available to everyone

Three years after its announcement at CES 2017 and two years of beta testing on PC, NVIDIA's GeForce Now cloud gaming service has debuted. The GeForce Now offer looks significantly more attractive compared to what the Google Stadia streaming game service is ready to give its users. At least on paper.

You can interact with GeForce Now free of charge or by subscription for $4,99 per month. While Google Stadia eventually began offering a "free" experience, it's only available to people who purchase the $129 Stadia Founders Edition and pay an additional $10 for the Stadia Pro subscription.

Cloud gaming service GeForce Now allows you to play any game without the need for a powerful PC. NVIDIA's service does not sell games, but allows you to connect to already created user libraries of the platforms Steam, Epic Game Store, Uplay and others. Simply put, users will be able to play games that they have already purchased previously. This means that the free scheme of interaction with the service can be truly free. In addition, GeForce Now supports a large number of popular online games such as Fortnite, League of Legends, Dota 2, Apex Legends, Warframe and so on.

GeForce Now officially supports about 400 games, which can be found through the internal search engine. The library of supported games is regularly updated with the most popular projects. In addition, GeForce Now allows you to interact with hundreds of games that are not optimized for the service and are not permanently stored on NVIDIA servers. They are accessed in a “single-session” mode, that is, users will have to install the game every time they start the service.

To interact with GeForce Now, NVIDIA offers clients for Windows, macOS, Android smartphones and TVs. In the future, the service will be available to Chromebook owners.

Unfortunately, the launch of the global version of GeForce Now does not yet affect Russian users, whom NVIDIA offers to use the localized cloud gaming service GFN.RU, developed by one of its partners. At GFN.RU, pricing is based on its own principles, and the previously valid subscription conditions (999 rubles per month) remain unchanged.
