People Can Fly would love to take on Bulletstorm 2, but for now it gives all the strength to Outriders

Fans of classic shooters quite appreciated the introduction of Bulletstorm in 2011, which received a re-release of Full Clip Edition in 2017. At the end of August, according to Sebastian Wojciechowski, executive director of the People Can Fly developer studio, a version for the Nintendo Switch hybrid console will also be released.

But what about the potential Bulletstorm 2? It's really interesting for a lot of people. It turns out there is still hope. “We, as you can understand thanks to the release of the remaster and the version for Switch, still keep this game in our hearts,” Wojciechowski said in an interview with Eurogamer journalists. And we wish she had a second life. We're still not sure how it will turn out, but obviously, since this brand is famous, has a lot of fans, and the rights to it are wholly owned by us, we would like to do something with it. We don't plan to return to this universe right now given our current involvement with the Outriders, but if you think about People Can Fly in the long term, it would certainly be great to return to this project."

“We just need to think about how to get the audience to be bigger than the original Bulletstorm. More work will need to be done in this direction with the new Bulletstorm,” he noted and hastened to add: “If we do decide to ever return to this brand.” The executive also stressed that his studio is currently giving its best to Outriders for Square Enix and has no other projects in development.

Outriders was teased during E3. We only know that this is a three-player cooperative shooter that will be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in the summer of 2020. People Can Fly doesn't want to expand on this for now. It's amazing how many people are working on Outriders. There are currently four teams involved with a total of 220 developers: two in Poland (Warsaw and Rzeszow), one in the UK (Newcastle) and one in the US (New York). If we take into account external assistance, according to Voitsekhovsky, we can talk about the participation of 300-350 people in the project.

In mid-2015, People Can Fly had only about 30 people. So this jump in the number of employees is due to the support of the publisher Square Enix. In exchange, the latter acquired all the rights to Outriders, although the idea and the first concepts were created by an independent studio.
