There have long been fairly reliable rumors that Playground Games is working on a new Fable. The team is actively hiring for the project and recently acquired Ian Mitchell. About it Head of Recruitment Nick Duncombe on his Twitter.

According to Mitchell's profile in he was working on , , and an unannounced Electronic Arts game as director of development. He is now Senior Producer on Playground Games' second team behind an RPG project rumored to be Fable IV. Ian Mitchell has a lot of experience in creating open world RPGs.

All parts of Fable are now available for backwards compatibility on Xbox One. Fable Anniversary has even been improved for Xbox One X, making it look sharp enough on modern displays. Unfortunately, Fable IV was not announced at the recent E3 2019 - the head of Xbox Phil Spencer (Phil Spencer) first that the project meets the desired level of quality.
