Support for the first Dying Light is not over yet

Last year, three years after launch, Dying Light received 10 additions within 12 months. At this time, Techland studio was already hard at work on Dying Light 2, which will be released in 2020. Everyone thought that support for the first part was completed, but it turned out not to be so.

Parkour action has only become more popular over the years. Dying Light lead designer Tymon Smektala said that word of mouth was a significant factor in the success of the first part, as well as all add-ons, including free ones. And although 2019 is unlikely to be the same for the game as the last, and Dying Light 2 is already looming on the horizon, the developers are still working on Dying Light.

β€œWe had a meeting right before E3 where we said that we still want to add something to the first part,” he said. β€œNow a small team is working on additional things that will appear in Dying Light.”

Techland has been supporting the game for so long because they believe the community will be the most important part of getting feedback on Dying Light 2, which also allows the team to experiment with features. β€œIf we had an idea for Dying Light 2 that we're not sure about, we could kind of mimic it in the first game and see how it works. We can find out what people find attractive and what they don't,” explained Timon Smektala.

Dying Light was released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 27, 2015.
