Full-length anime based on Ni no Kuni will be released on Netflix on January 16

An animated film based on the role-playing game series Ni no Kuni (also known as The Another World) will be released in the West via Netflix on January 16, according to the company. This adaptation premiered in Japan in August 2019. Warner Bros. was responsible for creating the project in the well-known gaming universe. Japan and Level-5, and the OLM studio was engaged in graphics.

Akihiro Hino is responsible for the script, project and overall direction. He is the producer and writer of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Yo-kai Watch and Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. Kento Yamazaki voiced the lead role in the Japanese original.

It is important to note that the anime was directed by Yoshiyuki Momose, who worked on such Studio Ghibli films as Spirited Away, Whisper of the Heart, Mary and the Witch Flower. The music was composed by Joe Hisaishi, composer of "Princess Mononoke", "Porco Rosso" and "My Neighbor Totoro".

This is how the film describes Netflix: β€œTwo ordinary teenagers Yuu and Haru embark on a magical journey to save the life of their childhood friend Kotona in both the real and parallel worlds. But love complicates their journey." Yuu is a wheelchair-bound high school student. He always had feelings for Kotone, who is dating Haru. The latter is Yuu's best friend and is a popular member of the school's basketball club.
