In all likelihood, Gearbox Software will not release Borderlands 3 at the launch of Google Stadia, but the role-playing shooter will be available shortly after the service launches.

WCCFTech recently interviewed head of PR Austin Malcolm and Borderlands 3 producer Randy Varnell, where information about the release window on the streaming service was confirmed. In addition, the project developer also talked about how well the role-playing shooter plays on Google Stadia.

When asked about Gearbox Software's experience with Google Stadia, Austin Malcolm replied: β€œYes, we're working on it. We're aiming for the 19th [November], launch day. But we want to tweak [the game] a little bit, just to make sure everything is okay. So [the release] may only be a few days after [the launch of Google Stadia]. If Borderlands 3 isn't at launch, it will be shortly after."

Borderlands 3 producer Randy Varnell added: β€œI played Borderlands 3 on Google Stadia. I played on a mobile phone with a controller attached to it. I was truly shocked at how smooth it was. You know, of course, the service requires a pretty good internet connection to make sure everything is cool and all that, but [it's] a surprisingly good port of the game. So I'm excited to see where this goes, it's uncharted territory. Nobody knows what will happen. And I thinkβ€”we were talking about this on the plane the other dayβ€”I think [the service] has a lot of potential for the future.”
