The creator of the role-playing game Cube World, Wolfram von Funck, published an entry on his blog in which he talked about the reasons for such a long development of the project. According to him words, the main reasons were depression and perfectionism.

β€œAs some people remember, after the store opened, we were subjected to a DDoS attack. This may sound stupid, but the event traumatized me. I've never told anyone about this and I don't want to go into detail, but I've been suffering from anxiety and depression ever since. Social networks did not solve this issue in any way. β€œI’m still not sure if I should tell this, but I wanted to explain myself to the fans,” said von Funk.

The developer also noted that he is a perfectionist, so he had to redo the work he had already done several times. He emphasized that he would like to add a number of other things to the game, but he considers the current version of the project to be fun.

β€œI hope most of you enjoy the upcoming release. I’m currently working on a new home page and want to add a few more things,” said the developer.

Cube World is an open world role-playing video game. The project will be released before the end of 2019 exclusively on PC.
