Richard Stallman remains head of the GNU Project

As you know, Richard Stallman recently left MIT Artificial Intelligence Lab, and resigned from the post of head and member of the board of directors of the FSF.

Nothing was known about the GNU project itself at the time. However, on September 26, Richard Stallman remindedthat he remains the head of the GNU Project and intends to continue as such:

[[[ To all NSA and FBI agents reading my email: please consider whether to protect the US Constitution from all enemies, external and internal, should not follow the example of Snowden. ]]]

On September 16, I resigned as president of the Free Software Foundation, but the GNU project and the FSF are not the same thing. I am still the head of the GNU Project (Master GNU) and intend to remain so.

Phoronix founder Michael Larabel commented, "Now that he probably has more time left after leaving FSF and MIT, we might see more code written by Stallman for the GNU Hurd and the like."
