SberTech, a subsidiary of Sberbank, announced the opening of public access to the new collaborative development platform GitVerse. The platform is not a clone of existing systems and provides a fairly simple and lightweight interface. GitVerse functionality is currently limited to only the basics, such as pull requests, reviewing proposed changes, forks, subscriptions to changes, viewing commit history, and migrating projects from GitHub, GitLab, Gitea, and any Git repository.
Teamwork tools allow you to add collaborators, assign one or more reviewers, assign roles, and discuss proposed changes. Free creation of private and public repositories for open and proprietary projects is supported. Integration with the Cloud.ru cloud service is available for testing and deploying applications. There are no discussions of issue, tags/releases, statistics, continuous integration tools, or even search within the repository yet.
GigaCode, an intelligent assistant similar to GitHub Copilot, is also available for testing. It provides context-sensitive code completions and hints as you type in 15 programming languages (JavaScript, Go, C, C++, Python, Java, Kotlin, Scala, etc.). GigaCode is designed as a plugin for integrated development environments such as VS Code and IntelliJ IDEA. Android Studio, PyCharm, Jupyter and CLion.
