Rumors: Activision will release a free-to-play battle royale related to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2020

On Twitter blogger LongSensation appeared message regarding the battle royale in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. A user who previously reportedly leaked the title of the game revealed that the said multiplayer mode will arrive in 2020. It will be connected with the main project, but the royal battle will be distributed separately, according to a shareware scheme.

According to the blogger, Activision made the right decision against the backdrop of the popularity of Fortnite and Apex Legends, which are in the public domain. More than a month ago, there were already rumors about this mode in the new Modern Warfare. Some sources told about the map three times more than the location from the "Eclipse" in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, battles for 200 people, revival functions, narrowing the zone with a ring of poisonous gases. Allegedly, in the new mode, weapons will be divided into ranks, and there are many enclosed spaces at the location.

Only now the authors from Infinity Ward have already stated in an interview publication IGN that they have no plans to develop the battle royale for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. According to them, the mode is not very suitable for the game, and they themselves are focused on recreating a realistic environment for modern warfare.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be released on October 25, 2019 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
