It is possible that the message in question is vandalism posted by an outsider as a result of a hack on stallman.org. For example, it is strange that the announcement was not made on the GNU mailing list, but on a personal site with marginal notes. However, information about the departure has not yet been confirmed or denied by Stallman himself, who may be on a trip (the day before the announcement of the removal from the GNU leadership, his website also posted about finding a room in Boston).
