DotEmu has narrowed the release window for Streets of Rage 4 to the first half of 2020. At least on Nintendo Switch. The publisher announced this in the latest issue of Nintendo Indie World.
Streets of Rage 4 is the continuation of the classic game series that began on the SEGA Mega Drive. DotEmu, Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games studios are trying to preserve the spirit of the original projects, but at the same time create a modern game in visual and gameplay terms. In the new trailer, the publisher introduced Adam Hunter. According to the description, he eliminated the leader of the Syndicate with his bare hands 28 years ago and has not returned until today.
In addition, Streets of Rage 4 will feature a soundtrack by Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima. DotEmu has also recruited Street Fighter II, Jet Set Radio and Ninja Gaiden composers Yoko Shimomura, Hideki Hananuma and Jeiji Yamagashi, respectively.
Streets of Rage 4 will also be released on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 next year.
