Samsung Electronics has announced a partnership with the 8K Association (8KA) to create a certification program to market 8K TVs and other 8K devices. It is reported that representatives of the Samsung QLED 8K series will be among the first devices to receive 8KA certification and the corresponding logo.
The 8KA certificate confirms that devices manufactured by the company with 8K support have higher quality images - high clarity, contrast, as well as improved color reproduction with support for HDR technology.
8KA certification is issued for TVs with a screen resolution of 7680 Γ 4320 pixels, a peak brightness of more than 600 nits, an HDMI 2.1 interface and support for the HVEC video codec.
Once 8KA's validation process is completed, Samsung Electronics, along with other association members, will be able to market certified 8K TVs to the market.
