RPG action Torchlight Frontiers will not be released in 2019. About this in PC Gamer interview at the ExileCon 2019 festival, the founder of the Echtra Games studio, Max Schaefer, spoke.

According to the developer, the initial release dates were set two and a half years ago, and plans have changed since then: “We haven’t discussed this publicly, although we probably should.”

“In fact, we don’t have specifics. We are currently making changes to the game, and it is very difficult to calculate how they will affect [the release schedule]. We don’t have anything better now, which is why we are delaying the announcement,” Schaefer explained.

The head of Echtra Games assures that the game "improves every day." At the same time, everyone in the team is inspired and just waiting for the right moment to share a large portion of information again.

Torchlight Frontiers will be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The action role-playing game will "unite the core of the beloved Torchlight series with a shared, persistent and dynamically generated world."

Echtra Games was founded after closure of Runic Games — studio-developer of the first two Torchlight. In 1993, Schaefer also helped establish Condor, which became Blizzard North (the Diablo series) in 1995.
