An unabashed analogue of Animal Crossing will appear on PC this year - Hokko Life

Independent developer Robert Tatnell announced Hokko Life, "a cozy, creative community simulation game." The game will appear in Steam Early Access until the end of 2020.

Similar to the Nintendo console-exclusive Animal Crossing series, Hokko Life will offer relaxed gameplay, interacting with anthropomorphic animals, and mundane rural activities like catching fish and bugs.

A distinctive feature of Hokko Life Tatnell calls the emphasis on that very creativity - players will be able to individualize furniture and interior items, as well as think over the design of their own clothes.

In the full version, the developer promises new customization options, an expanded set of items, improved fishing and gardening mechanics, additional dialogues and a system of city events.

The release version of Hokko Life is planned to be released on PC in the first half of 2021. The developer warns that the full edition will cost more than what will soon appear in Steam Early Access.

Hokko Life is Tatnell's debut solo project in an independent capacity. For 10 years he worked for various studios, including Sony and Lionhead, where he had a hand in such franchises as Fable, Wolfenstein and Killzone.

As for Animal Crossing itself, a new part with the subtitle New Horizons will be released on March 20 (on the same day as DOOM Eternal) for Nintendo Switch. In early February, it became known that the game would not support standard cloud save option.
