IGN Edition story campaign in Marvel's Avengers. The journalists spoke with the lead designer of the combat system Vincent Napoli (Vincent Napoli) from Crystal Dynamics and the creative director of the project Shaun Escayg. They said that the story campaign is designed exclusively for one player - due to the frequent switching between different superheroes, it becomes impossible to implement co-op in it.
The developers said that joint entertainment in Marvel's Avengers is present. Users will be able to complete side quests in which you can choose any of the available characters. The chosen superhero will be pumped after the successful completion of the mission. The authors also said that initially users should go through the story campaign. Secondary tasks have their own history, which is connected with the central narrative. So players will be able to better understand the objectives of the missions.
An Internet connection is not required to complete the story in Marvel's Avengers, but it is required when completing co-op missions. IGN journalists also said that the project has a lot of scripted scenes, like in the Tomb Raider and Uncharted series. Their conclusions are based on the trial shown at E3 2019.
Marvel's Avengers will release on May 15, 2020 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.
