Polygon journalists, who played the new shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, drew attention to the destroyed London electronics store. In this alternate universe where Syria is called Urzykstan and Russia is called Castovia, Activision has released its own game console. Moreover, the controller of this system is the most depressing version of the controller with two analog sticks that you can imagine.
Actibase ships with wireless controllers, power and HDMI cables. Infinity Ward designed the console kiosk for the electronics store level and needed equipment to match the scene. It is doubtful that console partners such as Microsoft or Sony would like their product to be shot (and even more so presented next to a lot of dead bodies).
The packaging appears to show screenshots from past Call of Duty games (this appears to be and a dog from - Infinity Ward took part in the development of both). But still, the most curious is this obviously strange controller, featuring an unergonomic layout of buttons with Roman numbering and an eerie D-pad - it's safe to say that this is not a console for fans of fighting games. Well, the huge power button on the front of the console simply provokes a curious pet to turn off the game in the middle of a match.
Activision was one of the first third-party publishers of console systems - the company is 40 years old but never had hardware ambitions. If you can draw any conclusions in this regard based on Actibase, then only make the conviction that the company is better off not trying to enter the console market. The system is well-suited for high-energy gunplay, but with 120GB of storage on board, it can't even hold Call of Duty: Modern Warfare itself.
The shooter is already available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
