Biostar has announced the A68N-5600E motherboard, designed to become the basis of a compact and relatively inexpensive computer based on the AMD hardware platform.
The novelty corresponds to the Mini ITX format: dimensions are 170 × 170 mm. The AMD A76M chipset is used, and the equipment initially includes an AMD A4-3350B hybrid processor with four processing cores (2,0-2,4 GHz) and integrated AMD Radeon R4 graphics.
There are two slots for DDR3/DDR3L-800/1066/1333/1600 RAM modules with a total capacity of up to 16 GB. There are two standard SATA 3.0 ports for connecting drives.
The arsenal of the board includes a Realtek RTL8111H gigabit network controller, a Realtek ALC887 5.1 audio codec, and a PCIe 2.0 x16 slot in which you can install a discrete graphics card.
The interface panel contains PS / 2 keyboard and mouse jacks, two USB 3.0 Gen1 ports and two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI and D-Sub connectors for image output, a network cable jack and audio jacks.
Based on the A68N-5600E model, you can form, say, a home media center. Nothing has been announced about the price.
