UK will allow the use of Huawei equipment for building 5G networks

Network sources report that the UK intends to allow the use of telecommunications equipment of the Chinese company Huawei, despite US recommendations to abandon this step. British media say that Huawei will receive limited access to create individual elements of the network, including antennas, as well as other equipment.

UK will allow the use of Huawei equipment for building 5G networks

The UK government has raised national security concerns over the inclusion of Huawei as a hardware supplier. As early as last month, representatives of the Cybersecurity Assessment Center said that the use of Huawei equipment could lead to risks within British telecommunications networks. The department that conducted the safety assessment of the Chinese company's equipment was criticized. Despite the identified shortcomings in the equipment supplied, experts have not confirmed that technical problems indicate the intervention of the PRC government.

It is worth noting that the news of the UK's intention to allow Huawei to participate in the construction of 5G networks comes after the US government strongly recommended that Germany stop using the Chinese manufacturer last month. It was reported that the American ambassador sent a letter to the government of the country, which stated that the United States would cease to cooperate with the German intelligence services if the supply of telecommunications equipment was carried out by Huawei.

No evidence that the Chinese manufacturer is spying for the government has yet been presented.
