Video: what Windows would look like if Apple worked on it

Windows and macOS are still competitors in the desktop OS market, and Microsoft and Apple are looking to develop new features that will set their products apart from the competition. Windows 10 has changed a lot over the past few years, and Microsoft is working hard to make it the operating system for everyone. The platform is now capable of running on a wide variety of devices and also offers a rich set of features for office work, gaming and touch screens.

And while some like the new direction Microsoft has taken for its operating system, others want the company to follow in Apple's footsteps and make Windows more like macOS. Recently there was a rumor, as if Apple might also move its Safari browser to Google's engine, but the Cupertino company is quickly refuted. But taking it a step further: what would Apple-style Windows look like?

I think it would be macOS. But Kamer Kaan Avdan, a designer at Kamer, came up with a hybrid concept that represents Windows 10 in the style of Apple - it offers a set of features and built-in applications that are already available to Microsoft users, but with improvements made to macOS.

For example, the Start menu, which may seem a little cluttered, includes an improved concept of live tiles based on Apple's design, with rounded corners inspired by macOS and iOS. In addition, this concept details a much-improved File Explorer as well as iMessage for Windows, which will essentially take Apple's messaging platform out of its own backyard.

The redesigned Action Center is clearly inspired by the Apple Control Center, and some of the improvements outlined in this concept really make sense in Windows 10. Dark theme, improved search, and iPhone integration are some of the other features envisioned in the concept. Of course, some of these ideas may at some point appear in Windows 10, but it is hardly worth waiting for such a strong similarity with macOS.
