The inner workings of Death Stranding: test footage from early game development
Adventure action Death Stranding was first shown to the world at E3 2016. Then no one knew what it would be. A few months earlier, Hideo Kojima filmed test footage for the game, which he has now posted on Twitter.
В debut trailer Death Stranding Sam Porter Bridges, played by Norman Reedus, wakes up on a beach as handprints form in the sand around him. In the tweet below, you can see the test footage that was used as a showcase for upcoming motion capture sessions of the actor. The video was filmed in March 2016.
The precious video from March 2016. I've been digging from archives as we'll be celebrating the 4th anniversary on 12/16. While having a few machines/staffs, we made this rough pre-visualizations to prep for upcoming Norman's performance capture.Glove as shooting guerilla style. pic.twitter.com/nRlSJANnIG
The precious video from Aug 2016. When we finally found the office to rent with more staff. As there's no hallway, kitchen or conference room we were able to shoot this image. Also, the game designer published a preliminary visualization of the scene of the meeting between Sam and Frajeel in the cave. It takes place in the first 10 minutes of Death Stranding, and here you can see Kojima using a handheld camera as a reference for the cinematic camera in the game.

Footage from Kojima Productions shows the inner workings of game development. Capcom used this as a pre-rendered scene for Devil May Cry 5. You can use them instead of game cutscenesif you purchased the Deluxe edition of the action.
Death Stranding was released on November 8, 2019 on PlayStation 4. The game will be available on PC in the summer of 2020.
