The introduction of new duties by the United States on goods from China may lead to an increase in prices for Apple iPhone

The introduction of US President Donald Trump's recently announced 1% tariff on Chinese imports on September 10 could hit Apple's revenue, Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BofA) said in a research note on Friday.

BofA's forecast also includes the possibility that Apple could raise iPhone prices by about 10%, which could cause demand for the devices to fall by 20%, or about 10 million units.

β€œBased on simple calculations, the impact (of the new tariffs) will be approximately $0,50-0,75 (per share) on earnings, including approximately $0,30-0,50 in losses due to the iPhone,” the bank’s analysts said.
