The company STC IT ROSA has released a corrective release of the freely distributed and community-developed distribution kit ROSA Fresh 12.5, built on the rosa2021.1 platform. Assemblies designed for the x86_64 platform in versions with KDE Plasma 5, GNOME, Xfce, LXQt and without GUI have been prepared for free download. Users who already have the ROSA Fresh 12 distribution installed will receive the update automatically.
Major changes:
- The package database has been updated. Core Linux updated to version 6.6 (previously supplied branches 5.10, 5.15 and 6.1 continue to be supported).
- Firmware and drivers for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have been updated.
- Added proprietary drivers for NVIDIA 550 video cards (branches 340, 390 and 470 continue to be available).
- A new version of the ROSA update indicator has been proposed, which supports various options for restricting access to installing updates - requesting an administrator password, requesting a password only for users and without a password.
- The installer features automatic partitioning when installing on encrypted disks, and supports tpm2 technology for storing encryption passwords in non-volatile memory (luksunlock/lukslock commands).
- It is possible to print and scan without first installing drivers for printers that support the IPP Everywhere protocol and for scanners that support the WSD protocol. The feature is implemented using the ipp-usb and sane-airscan packages.
- Added support for “sconfigs-*” packages with advanced security and system audit settings.
- The qemoo utility has been proposed for quickly launching iso images in the QEMU emulator.
- User environment component versions: KDE Frameworks 5.112.0, KDE Plasma 5.27.10, KDE Applications 23.08.04/5.15.10/4.7.2, Qt 42, gtk 124.0.1, GNOME 122, Firefox 7.6.5, Chromium 4.16, LibreOffice 1.4, Xfce XNUMX, LXQt XNUMX.
