Wayland, apps, consistency! KDE priorities announced

At Akademy 2019, Lydia Pincher, head of the KDE eV organization, announced the main goals for working on KDE for the next 2 years. They were removed by voting in the KDE community.

Wayland is the future of the desktop, and therefore you need to pay maximum attention to the smooth operation of Plasma and KDE Apps on this protocol. Wayland should be one of the central parts of KDE, with Xorg an optional feature.

Apps should look and behave consistently. Now, unfortunately, this is not always the case. For example, tabs in Falkon, Konsole, Dolphin, Kate look and behave differently, have different options and functions. There shouldn't be such a mess.

KDE is more than 200 applications and add-ons, and it is not surprising to get confused in this wealth. So the developers will focus on simplifying the delivery of all this goodness to inexperienced users. It is planned to rework distribution platforms, improve metadata and documentation.
