Windows 10X will combine desktop and mobile tasks

Recently, Microsoft presented new operating system Windows 10X. According to the developer, it is based on the usual "top ten", but at the same time it differs quite a lot from it. The new OS will remove the classic Start menu, and there will be other changes.

Windows 10X will combine desktop and mobile tasks

However, the main innovation will be the combination of scenarios for the desktop and mobile versions of the OS. And although it is not yet clear what exactly is hidden under this definition, it is obvious that the company is launching a new project that should become an alternative to Android and iOS.

The company also said it is looking for a senior software engineer to work with developers. His mission is to bring innovation to any Windows device, including desktops and servers.

Interestingly, Microsoft also mentioned a certain Modern PC device as one of its supported devices, but the company did not share any information about it. Maybe it's a new version of the Surface Dou/Neo or a foldable solution with a flexible screen.

Windows 10X is expected to release over the holidays in early 2020 and will be available for both dual-screen and traditional laptops. It also indicates that the system is written for x86-64 processors and obviously will support Win32 applications.

In general, the future OS should be a true hybrid of desktop and mobile elements. The main thing is that Redmond should improve the quality control of testing. Otherwise, as a result of updates, not only desktops, but also smartphones will be out of work. In this case, a single mistake can leave people without communication, work, and so on.
