The Linux kernel has one weakness: poor testing. One of the main signs that we are about to change is that KernelCI, the Linux kernel automated testing framework, is becoming part of the Linux Foundation project.
At a recent meeting Linux Kernel Plumbers in Lisbon, Portugal, one of the hottest topics was how to improve and automate Linux kernel testing. Leading Linux developers have joined forces under one testing environment: KernelCI. Now, on Open Source Summit Europe in Lyon, France, KernelCI became a project of the Linux Foundation.
