6. Check Point Maestro Scalable Platform Just Got More Affordable. New Check Point Gateways

Earlier we wrote that with the advent of Check Point Maestro, the level of entry (in terms of money) into scalable platforms has decreased significantly. There is no need to purchase chassis solutions anymore. Take exactly what you need and add as needed without a lot of upfront cost (as is the case with the chassis). How can this be done see here. For a long time, only a few bundles were available for order - 6500, 6800 and 23800. And so, this year, Check Point presented new and more productive gateway models - Quantum. As a result, new minimal bundle with one orchestrator (MHO140) and two gateways (6200 Plus) more than doubled in price! This allows companies of almost any size to use scalable solutions without inflating upfront costs. Let's take a closer look at the new models.

Branches and small offices (not suitable for Maestro)

For small businesses and branches, new models were presented - 3600 (datasheet) and 3800 (datasheet). Although these models CANNOT be used to connect to the orchestrator (10G links are needed), I still consider it important to talk about them. Compared to previous models (3100, 3200), performance has more than doubled, while the price has remained virtually unchanged. The main characteristics of the new devices in the picture below:

Small and medium businesses

For small and medium-sized businesses, 4 new models were released at once: 6200 (datasheet), 6400 (datasheet), 6600 (datasheet) and 6700 (datasheet). Key features in the picture below:

All models can be used to connect to an orchestrator. For example, if you use a 6200 gateway, you can increase the "power" of the cluster from 3.6 Gbps (2 nodes) up to 93.6 Gbps (52 nodes) in Threat Prevention mode. For a 6600 gateway, these will be numbers 7.4 и 192.4 respectively. Serious numbers.

Big business

For large businesses, there are two new models - 7000 (datasheet) and 16200 (datasheet). Specifications for the 7000th model in the picture below:

You can increase the power of the cluster from 19 Gbps (2 nodes) up to 494 Gbps (52 nodes) in Threat Prevention mode.

You can increase the power of the cluster from 30 Gbps (2 nodes) up to 780 Gbps (52 nodes) in Threat Prevention mode.

Solutions for data centers

And the most powerful models in the family, models for data centers - 26000 (datasheet) and 28000 (datasheet). Key features in the picture below:

For the 26000 model, you can increase the cluster power from 48 Gbps (2 nodes) up to 1248 Gbps (52 nodes) in Threat Prevention mode.
For the 28000 model, you can increase the cluster power from 60 Gbps (2 nodes) up to 1560 Gbps (52 nodes) in Threat Prevention mode. Those. 1.5 Tbps!

Instead of a conclusion

I am sure that many will be interested in models from the 6000th line. On their basis, you can immediately begin to build a scalable platform on the network perimeter. It will be more profitable than a classic cluster, both from a financial and technical point of view. We previously wrote about it. Therefore, if you are just planning to implement a firewall or are considering an upgrade, we highly recommend looking towards Check Point Maestro. With a high degree of probability, it may turn out that this will be the most optimal solution.
